137 Sqn (Whirlwinds) leave Manston for Southend. However, they continue to fly from Manston for operations.

Fw 190 lands at Manston
Uffz. Werner Öhne of 1./SKG 10 lands his Fw 190 at Manston after having lost his radio and become disorientated in bad weather. Believing he was over France he jettisoned his bombs and made a perfect landing.
His Fw 190A-5 (WNr 2596) was flown to Farnbrough the next day and given the RAF serial PN999.
