Assessment of the impact of air attacks against British airfields
From August 00.00 hrs to 6 September 10.00 hrs

The attacks on the ground organisation in Britain were directed against a total of 109 airfields.

The ground facilities of the following 18 airfields have been destroyed and confirmed by the evaluation photo-reconnaissance images.

  4. Driffield
  5. Eastchurch
  6. Ford
  7. Gosport
  8. Hawkinge
  9. Kenley
  10. Lee-on-the-Solent
  11. Lympne
  12. Maidstone
  13. Manston
  14. Martlesham Heath
  15. Rochester
  16. Tangmere
  17. Thorney Island
  18. Warmwell

The ground facilities of 31 airfields have been damaged based on visual observation (those underlined have been confirmed by the evaluation photo-reconnaissance images.

  20. North Weald
  21. Norwich-Mousehold
  22. Odium
  23. Portsmouth
  24. Ramsgate
  25. Redhill
  26. Rochford
  27. St Athan
  28. St Eval
  29. Sealand
  30. Southend
  31. Stradishall

60 other airfields have been attacked but the extend of the damaged cannot be ascertained.
